PETEY
DOB 2006. Petey is a sweetie! This young pit bull terrier was rescued from southwest Oak Cliff, where he roamed the streets for many weeks. He was even shot at by some callous person, and he has a bullet wound scar in his leg.
He is currently being boarded, but the man who found him visits him often. Petey has not had any formal training, but he knows two commands: "Lick my face!" and "Roll over for a belly rub!" He is one of those dogs that absolutely loves affection. He'll put his head in your lap, and he never gets tired of letting you pet, hug, and kiss him.
He does not have signs or behaviors to indicate that he could have been a fighter, and has never shown aggression to a person. He is friendly with most but not all dogs, and probably needs to be an only dog, or have a female his age and size. He walks very well on a leash, and ignores pedestrians and other animals when walking.
He is vaccinated, neutered, dewormed, and is heartworm negative.
Contact us today if you’d like to meet Petey, or have an application emailed to you. Greater Dallas inquiries only please.
THE REASON TO ADOPT:
The companionship of pets enriches our lives. When you have made the decision to introduce a pet into your life, ADOPT A DALLAS PET encourages you to only adopt from rescue. Every year millions of homeless pets are killed in our Nation's shelters. The actual number estimates range from 3 to 10 million each year, but as far as we are concerned, one single dog or cat is too many. Through accident or intention, more pets are born each year than there are available homes for them. By adopting a homeless pet, you will not only be saving a life, you will be making a difference.
BECOMING A PET GUARDIAN:
Deciding to add a pet to your family is a serious undertaking, and the decision should not be made impetuously. Most pets can be with you 10 to 20 years depending on the breed and health of the pet. ADOPT A DALLAS PET strongly encourages you to consider if such a long term commitment is right for you at this time. If so, we hope that we can assist you in finding a suitable match. If not, there will certainly be a better time in the future for you to share your life with a companion animal.
